Wi-Fi options in the truck

I hope Starlink introduces Truckers version of their satellite. Until then I mostly use my Verizon, with unlimited data. $120 a month for phone and tablet. Each with its own data plan and no need to hotspot.

 

I pay $25/mo. Their most expensive option is 1 line for $40/mo.

 

No caps at all? I use like 500gb.. how do they let u use a router?

 

I use Verizon. Unlimited data on my cell phone, BUT, 500 gig limit on hotspot tethering. Years ago I bought an air card for my laptop, with unlimited data. It requires a second line. It's worked well for me.

 

Let you? This is America, Jack. They send you a sim, you put the sim in the router and off you go. I've been doing it for about 4 years now. I use 100's of Gb per month, never been a problem. Do you serve the Mad King?

Well some companies block the use of routers.

 

Not this one. It worked so well in my truck I use the same setup for my home internet. I have setup relatives with home internet the same way. Gaming, streaming video, downloads all kinds of internet use. If Visible has a problem with it they've got great coping skills because they're being awfully quiet about it. If you're concerned you can try the 15 day free trial. The only caveats are:

1. In times of traffic, your data may be temporarily slower than other traffic.

2. 5G is max 200Mps.

I live in a Seattle suburb. My relatives use the same setup in Portland, Seattle, Coeur d'Alene and Boise. It's never been an issue. Temporarily slower has no noticeable effects.

Change cell providers. Verizon and ATT have the most coverage. If you operate in a particular lane or area look at the coverage maps of the cellphone providers before you make changes. There are ways to get on the Verizon or ATT networks without having to pay the inflated prices of Verizon or ATT. I've been with Verizon and there are very few places I don't have coverage 24/7. If you stay with a provider that has big gaps, or gaps where you run, no hardware is going to give you good signal if there is zero signal from your provider.
