Yeah I sometimes get tired of hearing some people paint the reefer biz as torture and starvation lol .
But that's OK because my company currently has no available openings for owner ops .

Whats interesting though many of the issues you mentioned a driver still experiences with dry freight also, About the only 2 I see that would be extra is the trailer wash out although usually a sweep with a broom was usually enough i hauled reefers for close to 12 months and in all that time only once did I actually have to get the inside of the trailer washed out. The only other issue which only happened twice in 12 months was carting frozen freight on one occasion after being loaded I was not allowed to leave the warehouse until my reefer temp was below 10 f on another occasion I had to load ice cream out of Denver CO and they would not allow us to load until the fridge van was down below 10 f so based on my experiences alone that was only 3 occasions that I was stuffed around in 12 months. Note sure what every one is really complaining about. The same delays will still be experienced with dry freight when it comes to delivering at warehouses or picking up from warehouses.

We know you're happy, with your dedicated accounts, what's not to like? The problem is someone wants in "cold quarter", they will get all the crap that outfits like yours reject. Nothing new, really, but today,, a new driver can't possibly compete with your dedicated routes and it sucks being a stranger everywhere you go. I too, had dedicated reefer routes, and even though I was paid by the hour, and saw them every day, I saw plenty of drivers, strangers, that got terrible treatment. I tried not to look and kept stacking my cheese boxes on small wood, or whatever, I didn't care how long it took, but always felt bad for those other guys.
