What if it Snows?

I'm not going to call any names. But country started going downhill in the late 80s. I'm basically a classic country person. I understand the business end of expanding the audience! The problem though is when you do this you dilute what country was to all us old fossil butts!

 

Outlaw Country was my first exposure to country back in the late 70s. Never strayed far. I absolutely abhor the new "country". Don't know how it even finds it way onto country stations. I listen to Sirius Prime Country, channel 58, but they loop their titles so frequently I get bored stiff and need to change over to 60 (Outlaw) or 62 (Bluegrass). Then those start looping and I repeat.

It's a vicious cycle.

Thanks for this never heard him before. Spotify has almost 3 hours of Junior Brown’s music and it freaking great. “Better Call Saul” cracks me up.

 

Every time I get to thinking about "classic country" my mind wanders to this song. Ole “Possum” was once arrested driving a riding mower! The day I got that fateful letter from the Virginia DMV notifying me my CDL/DL had been suspended pending later action to revoke I thought about Jones. Part of a later conversation was you can't even pull a George Jones now! Heck, my doctors have advised me to not even attempt to use a store scooter.
