    That is for those hi-speed back up maneuvers when you just passed a turn-off and then someone on the CB tells you that the DOT is setting up the road about a mile or so from your 20.

    I do have a high reverse gear on my truck. It comes in handy for those long backs you can do at the breakneck speed of 6 mph. :biggrin_25523:

    When I was first learning to drive I went out as a helper (food service) with one of our drivers. After all deliveries were completed, the driver stopped and picked up a few brews. It is dark and we are traveling down a backroad somewhere between Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa. I asked the driver about backing straight down long alleys. He stopped the truck, put the truck in reverse, flipped the splitter to High and proceeded to back-up for at least 200’.
