Been looking and turning down jobs since I quit vendor job. Haven’t been able to find or get called by any job that pays over 75 starting off since.
i hear mixed stories about how it’s not much more money then working for a company after paying loan and repair

What the chances of finding work ASAP (within a week or 2 ) if I buy a truck?
Is I likely to bring home a good amount running local or is hotshot a better option? (Can’t park truck at house )
    Is it worth it?

Have 20k cash already saved and excellent credit but only willing to spend if I’m %100 sure I’ll profit

...that doesn't sound like a business plan ...we should suggest you to go ahead and buy the truck/trailer ?! ...just do it - tell us in summer how did it go

Your question is your answer. If you don’t know what the current market is like, you are not ready.

If you are running your own numbers, you won’t be be good to go in a few weeks. One poster here has been waiting……and waiting……and waiting.

Look like Sysco the best option by pay, I just hate to go back that type of work

If that's a serious answer - then I'm glad you said it.

I started in 2015 with a $12.5k truck, 30k financed trailer, excellent credit and zero household debt, with established 401k and rental houses. It was a struggle for the first year. Leased on to a company and ran their numbers.

Until 2021, I maintained it was possible given the correct pre-cursors. Now - I'm less optimistic.
