    What I am trying to explain , it that percentage is going to go way up under your system. Its just like when you give me a load and then find out you could have covered it for half the price.
    You think well 150 bucks TONU and Im off the hook and the trucker gets money for not doing anything. You dont feel as bad about the transaction.
    I am not saying you personally do this but there are plenty that do.

    I don't think this goes on as much as you think. When I cover a load, that's it, done deal. I don't have the time to engage in these shenanigans. I realize it goes on and these brokers are total s-heads and should be out of the industry. On the other side of it, I have seen carriers cancel loads because they found something better for maybe $100.

    This site is called THE TRUCKERS REPORT and not THE BROKERS REPORT.

    Do you think when the truck cancels and the broker cannot get another truck to cover the load within the price range, Will the broker pay extra from his pocket or will the broker give the load back to the shipper

    Does this really happen a lot? I operate my business much the same way you do. Once I commit I’m committed. Btw. I don’t have brokers that do it to me either. However I’m in more of a niche market. There are fewer trucker and even fewer brokers.

    Giving loads back is the fastest way to lose a customer.

    You and I think the same on this topic.

    I’ll often leave myself open, rather than book a load at a rate I’m unhappy with just to stay loaded.

    It’s worked out better for me more times than not.

    “Can you be 700 miles away to load tomorrow evening?”

    Yes I can. But if I booked $3/mile on the trailer just to earn revenue - you bet I’ll eat the turds because once I commit - that’s it.

    If you think that broker will be good for you in the future, honor your word and deal wih him. If you are not likely to deal with the broker in the future, just tell him you can't do THAT load and get something else from another broker.

    brokers sit on the butt in front of a computer all day scheming you ways to cheat truckers out of money by double and triple brokering loads to themselves to skim off the good paying loads .
    So you have to tap the computer keys twice and repost the load how much does that cost you ?
