We had a guy get cited for rustjacking on his tractor brakes - a week after he had all 6 brakes done.

Then there was the guy with a hazmat load who climbed out of the truck and stood by the door with all his paperwork on the driver's seat. Driver was cited for not greeting the inspecting officer with paperwork in hand.

Or the intermodal driver who pulled out of the ramp and got inspected and given an over axle ticket. How can you figure out if you're over axle until you put it on a scale?

Then dot wonders why we don't think they're on our side.

That kinda pickey bs is why you don't see multiple colors of IFTA stickers on Acklie trucks. One got a ticket for having more than one IFTA sticker displayed, so now we have to remove the previous year's sticker when we're putting on the new one.

Just the sort of thing that makes people hate cops.

What a racket. And you’re exactly right @MACK E-6 Guys at my work are always whippin me #### for dippin around the scale in Gardner KS. “Why do you go around your weights are legal?” A) it’s habit from end dumping B) That particular scale is a training facility so they’re always out for blood and C) It’s stories like these. Weight is just the tip of the iceberg, and I’m not trying to get bent over the fuel tanks behind the coop over some Mickey Mouse infraction like the ones discussed here.

If you're using 175th to US169 back to I-35(or vice-versa) to get around them, you have to watch out. Sometimes the Olathe cop sits on 175th watching for trucks bypassing the scales. I use to haul glass out of the Spring Hill glass plant around the corner from there, and we'd run into him from time to time when we would bob-tail to the Walmart south of the scales.
