True. Very good idea. Just a note for clarity when I said for my benefit I do plan on buying a truck and getting into some construction/roadwork stuff local in not too long from now.

Add to that spending all day cursing some pos that was engineered around being cheap and easy to assemble instead of easy to work on like a real truck.

I have only one word for you: International.
That word inflicts acute feeling of terror in any diesel technician I know and respect.
    Sorry to mention that word.

Been there even with an old one. I had an ‘82 Eagle that had the battery box under the drivers door, a pair of 150’s to the rear and a 120 under the passenger door. Half of the air reservoirs in the truck and all the plumbing attached to them had to come out from under there, or lift the cab to change a treadle valve. That was one agony among others. That was my one and only farm implement.

Years ago I had the opportunity to go to then NADC(Nashville Auto Diesel College)
    I didn’t do it.
    I don’t know why I didn’t.
Well, I didn’t because i was tired of school.
Now, looking back, any knowledge you get is good, no matter what, noone can take away that.

I screamed about certificates my dad made me get. I thought I was going into the trucks and wouldn’t need any of them, thought it was a waste of time. All he said at the time was it wouldn’t break me out in a sweat carrying them around in my ### pocket. As it turns out I’ve used almost all those skills at some point in my life.

My dad and my grandfather, and the couple of generations of their drivers, equipment operators, welders and mechanics that I grew up among cross my mind and get a thank you every day of my life. I know very well what made all the good i enjoy now possible.
