Peoplenet is logging/fleet tracking. And it’s probably still tied into your ECM. I would find where the wires go before I just start cutting them.
Siinman, Magoo1968 and gentleroger Thank this. -
I'd guess it would be multiple wires inside the cable. If you DO cut it, splice the cable open and individually isolate all the little wires before pushing it through, just in case one is powered.
cke, Magoo1968 and gentleroger Thank this. -
you could short out something, you could mess with the ECM........
you could just use a nylon tie, tie it up and leave it alone.baha Thanks this. -
Cut and tape ends separately then together. Keeps for shorting anything
simpatico Thanks this. -
Update: I removed the inner wall panels and I traced the wires behind the fridge and continuing forward. There are 2 connections behind the passenger seat under the plastic shroud where the sleeper meets the cab but there are several wires in those connections. I’m not sure if the 2 I’m looking for are there. What I ended up doing was grabbing as much slack as I could and pushed it out the hole in the roof. I had just enough to relocate the bracket to corner the driver side roof.
Back to the original question; the majority of you believe the black square box is GPS related ( I agree), but still not clear what the curly wire antennae is for. Could be fleet location/communication or a Paccar spy antenna for diagnostics etc. -
Leave it on ... add on feature when you sell.
-
leave it alone, lest you be probed, via your butt. -
It's just the antenna package for peoplenet. One antenna for gps, the other antenna for the communications usually some sort of cell phone probably even analog at the time depending on how old a unit it is.

If they don't go to anything you plan to use, I would cut them, tape the ends, and forget about it. I'm a redneck though
