Very true, and the trailer suspension Past the dog when the brakes are set.

Our whole fleet is air ride trailers, so it’s something I overlooked. How common are Spring Ride vans?

We still have a hundred or so reefers with spring. All of the dry vans are spring

So far, this Walmart gig sucks. Got up this morning at my usual time before sunrise. Put me in a daycab, and my 1st store doesn't take deliveries until 19:00. And all the bull#### you have to do is just nuts. I honestly don't see how anyone moves to a job like this on purpose. If they gave me a choice of doing this the rest of my career or shooting myself in the nuts with a 12 gauge, I would beg for the gun...and supply the ammo. If regular Walmart white shirt drivers have to do the same kind of BS over there, $100k ain't enough. When I get back from my 1st run I may just call Deland and tell them to swap me into another truck just to get home... bankruptcy and retirement from trucking would be an upgrade.

Oh, and anyone coming west on 80, it's shut down after the Cheyenne DC right now

Walmart fleet drivers don’t have to deal with those type of appointments. Hit the dock, unload and haul $$$. They give the appointments to the bottom feeder mega’s that service them too.

Might have been better...to turn down the daycab Walmart foolishness...but at least your getting extra .08 cpm...or you should...the otr fill in Crete drivers do..and $15 per stop...but even with that...I've only done it ..one time in 11 years...that was enough for me

I dont have an extra $115/a night for my own hotel room right now without taking momma's savings. I had 2 bad weeks on either side of home time, and this week will be a 3rd bad week, so swapping to a different truck to get home is the only option besides doing this Walmart crap

I go thru breakdown, but Deland watches, so if I don't check in like I should, they call me then they find out I am staying at a hotel at the company's expense and then pitch a fit at Lincoln for paying. Then get pissed at me because I am sitting instead of using a loaner or swapping truck.

And based on just listening to the drivers in the company breakroom here in the dedicated office while I am waiting to grab my load, they are having about as many problems with equipment as I am so swapping is just jumping from one sinking ship to another.

Things are as disfunctional at this walmart office as they are in Lincoln. Went in, got the paperwork from the office, and I am still waiting to be dispatched on the load so I can start my day...it's been 20 minutes since she handed me my paperwork.

As a driver, you should know your day is 24 hours. ;) The one thing I hate most about driving is the unnecessary waiting caused by hourly people.
