No idea how it happened. The semi involved was upright but halfway jacknifed across both lanes. So idk if he caused it or if the wreck happened in front and he swerved to avoid it and went head on with the other lane or something like that. Don't know just speculating . I'm definitely done with that road tho. Only going Flagstaff way from now onInTooDeep, Feedman, LoSt_AgAiN and 12 others Thank this.

I hear that man. I hate seeing #### like that. Especially when kids involved. Tears a guy up seeing those helicopters come in and take off so quick, even when you don't know the people or are involved with it. U just know it's horrible condition if they bring the choppers. Just a sad situation.InTooDeep, Feedman, LoSt_AgAiN and 13 others Thank this.

The VA, for as long as I can remember, has been a haven for the second rate and marginally qualified medical people in their job market. Drank yourself out of your last job? Got caught tapping the pill supply in the pharmacy? Barely speak enough English to communicate with other staffers? Apply at VA. They always need people and they're not choosy. They can't afford to be choosy and the quality of medical care shows it.
Ever wonder where a doctor that finished last in his class goes to work? Right, Docs in a box or the nearest VA facility.
How about major personality disorders? We had a resident at our local VA clinic who was rendered almost catatonic with Asperger's Syndrome. We thought was Asperger's anyway. It was hard to tell because all he could do when faced with any kind of pressure based decision was to stare at the floor and mumble in his native language. We're not sure what his native language was either because his English never surfaced long enough to really communicate with him.
I was just an ambulance driver so I didn't have to deal with him much but I heard the stories from those who did. He wandered off one day, left his car and his apartment, and was never seen again. I don't think anybody looked very hard.
We had an ER nurse who couldn't function if she couldn't self medicate. Booze was her favorite but any of the tranqs would do. They kept her behind the counter updating charts and answering the phone. That worked for the first six hours of her shift because the second six hours were spent sleeping in a janitor's closet .
The pharmacists had to be watched every time they filled a prescription. It was common practice to double check all their work. The opioid inventory was never resolved and even with a constant state of audit stuff went missing that was never accounted for. We'd get people right out of pharmacy school who were waiting for their Walgreens job or a position at a real hospital to open up. They had a high stress job that didn't pay anything and they were worked half to death. How would your attitude be?
I used to feel sorry for the nurses. They'd show up fresh out of school all full of enthusiasm and a real desire to do a good job. Their idealism got trampled right into the mire of governmental red tape and incompetent co workers. You could tell when they gave up, the light in their eyes would click off and they'd start using their floor time to get their resumes updated. We couldn't keep the good ones and the bad ones never left.
I'm sure there are VA facilities somewhere that are staffed by talented and dedicated people. I've just never been to one.InTooDeep, Feedman, LoSt_AgAiN and 12 others Thank this. -

I ran 93 quite a bit back in the mid 90's but hen by about 2000 I'd seen enough and started going flagstaff. Seems a much safer choice.InTooDeep, LoSt_AgAiN, tramm01 and 8 others Thank this.
