Ha.. Wudnt the long rides, it is the getting off, and fixing a breaks that wear.
As a youngster on farm. Worked all week, got to ride our horses off around on Sunday afternoon's with some other neighbor boys. Saddled up, rifle or shotgun aboard, start out. Daddy on porch... Where you boys going? Told him general direction. Oh, well. Take some tools and smooth wire and fix up that water gap over on ??? creek road.. Them pliers you admire, some staples, a claw hammer, and 10-15 feet of smooth wire went in the saddle bags.
As an aside and not argumentative.. 5 of us, all with a rifle or shotgun (some with a pistol also) rode around on 2 or 300 acres a weekend, never shot a house, barn, anyone's cow or each other... Present times puzzle me.
What if it Snows?
