Hold On, Article STATES "driver" isn't yet done with Outcome:

An investigation of the incident focused on the condition of the logging truck. A mechanic who had inspected the truck less than a month earlier had his license suspended as a result on the grounds that his inspection of the rig had been inadequate.
Since then, Willett has been charged with causing the death of a person while committing a traffic infraction, along with several trucking violations and operation of a defective vehicle. He will also have to pay a fine and his license will be suspended. He is due in court on August 19th.

Maine is actually known for throwing the book at truck drivers,so I’m sure they’re thinking of punishment that’s more “long term”!

It says the incident in question happened in April 2019, over three years ago. And it's still not resolved, wow.

I once worked for a company that had old equipment, they put aluminum wheels next to steel, had the barrel nuts and turning would break them.
At least once a week you had to stop by a tire shop and have them fixed.
Company wouldn’t do anything but replace them when they broke, wouldn’t tell the new guys, you had to catch it.
