    *Dave pretends to be shocked"

Everyone drives so careful and courteous on that road, how can there be accidents on it??

Last night was real ugly. On I-78 there were two accidents on the westbound side. One involving a bobtail near Queen City Airport in Allentown and another accident in Bethlehem involving 2 semis, one of which went into a ditch and the other truck laying over completely across both lanes, effectively shutting down the westbound side!

Yet another reason I drive at night. Most pileups occur during daylight hours. Idiots.

I've learned 1 thing about I-81 in PA....weather is never a factor there. Pileup and accidents occur there regardless of the season, and weather conditions. It's 55 mph for much of the stretch between Carlisle and Harrisburg for some reason, and those motorists are getting it...it's like 55 means nothing.

That area sucks. I see fedwrecks trucks in ditches all the time there during winter.

    JoeyJunk Thanks this.

81, 78, 83 and 322 might as well not even have posted speed limits. I don't even think the state police go after people unless they're going 85+

The reason these types of events are now commonplace, no longer just icy roads in the winter, is that the density of traffic, cars and trucks is way over the design limits of the highway.
And since it is nearly impossible to get a highway built, or even add lanes to existing ones, the situation will only get worse.
Even for the electric car weinies.

sevenmph, JoeyJunk and Opus Thank this.
