No…most wouldn’t even know where to check the truck oil..lol

 

The dipstick is inside the compartment which has two spring latches on it…that won’t even be accessible inside that fairing like that at all

 

I didn’t notice it was inside a fairing. I know the front ones were easily removable on the freightliner I drove years ago. Maybe the rear ones are too? I honestly don’t like having lower fairings at all but I’m not pulling a box.

 

Just like Jesslineck used the first 9 months of data to "prove" drivers weren't using the APU. We started getting them in late June, I got mine in August. Managed to run around all the heat, so didn't need to run the a/c much at night. Then all winter long the APU almost never kicked over because the batteries were still brand new. The next summer (2019) the apu was a life saver especially when you look at how much we were sitting. The second winter the apu kicked on a lot more as it was a) colder and b) the batteries weren't brand new.

It's odd though, apu equipped trucks are averaging .3 mpg better than opti idle trucks, region by region. At current fuel prices that covers the cost of the apu in 8 months.

 

You can check the oil without too much difficulty, but anything other than that is off the table.

The rear fairings don't come off easily. One of the problems we're having is that the mechanics take the side panels off the apu because it's easier to do scheduled maintenance than taking the tractor skirts off, but don't get all the screws back in properly because it's a pain in the tuckus. The screws then tend to fall out, causing the bottom panel to fall off. And in a surprising number of cases, the screws get inside the dust cover on the tractor brakes.

 

These fairing are bolted on the right side of the truck…that’s just one of the problems they’re going to encounter unless they get smart and change something.

 

The level of ridiculousness with this clown show over here is insane… they tried to give me a preplan today picking up at the same place I just dropped tonight at delivery 390 miles away on Tuesday I told them tcall in Omaha or I’m not committing to it they immediately took it off and waited eight hours to let me know about the other pre-plan they sent me after I sent in my empty call… friend of mine on the Shaffer side came out of the house on Thursday to pick up a tcalled load in Salt Lake Going to Oakland.

The load was late getting to Salt Lake so they ended up rescheduling the delivery for Sunday he asked about T calling it Friday evening in Stockton at the drop yard so they went ahead & preplanned him on a load picking up Saturday in Modesto going to Hermiston Oregon.

when he asked them how am I supposed to pick up a load when y’all haven’t T called load yet and am I going to need a refer to pick up this dry load in Modesto? Their response was worried about a reefer when you dropp in Hermiston…

Mind you he still under the Oakland load… they still decided to make him deliver the load on Sunday in Oakland and then wait till 1030 in the morning 24 hours later to load in Lathrop… This place has gotten absolutely beyond dysfunctional it’s a joke.
