I know I'm late but LTL has had Volvos since last year - I think Coon Rapids has 4 or 5 of them. They're really nice!
-
I've seen a lot more than 4 or 5 LTL Volvo's

Some flatbedder dropped his trailer on the side of the court and then decided to park in the middle of said court. Thankfully i was able to turn around in the space given...just. Perks of having a Freightliner i suppose. My turning radius isn't the size of the moon.

There very well may be more than that. I start at 8am so I bet a few of them are already out of the yard by the time I get there in the morning -
@MaineRoad96 how do you like your new 2023 Peterbilt? I think the 2022 and older ones are complete trash. Are the ergonomics better? Is there actually some semblance of storage cabinets and stuff? Or is it just a body kit upgrade? I'm in a 2020 tractor so my truck would be on the chopping block in a year or so. I'll live with the Paccar motor and terrible turning radius if they did something with the storage and ergonomics. Also whoever thought that 'those' mirrors were a great idea should be taken out to pasture

What the heck is up with those new mirrors? My company just started getting some ‘23’s and those mirrors are half the size of the old ones. I guess if it still shows you what it needs to…..
We’ve had several instances where the digital dash freezes up and kicks the cruise off. So far pulling over, shutting the truck off, and waiting for the transmission “clunk” has reset them but that’s a glitch that needs to be fixed. -
They have an electronic mirror version of the smaller mirrors that have a camera in the lower section and the screens are on the A pillars to your left and right.
To date I’ve only seen one company truck driving down the road with the option. Interesting on the dash freezing, I’m in a 2023 T680, my brightness at times flickers on the dash, but thankfully no freezes. -
Mine will flicker to, but it has an auto-brightness sensor...that and it pauses the radio and dims the dash when you put it in reverse...too bad the Peoplenet isn't connected to that, it's twice as bright as the dash

Everyone's hopping on the digital dash bandwagon. What was wrong with analog gauges? It's like these push button start cars...keys have worked just fine for decades. My 31 year old car has its original ignition and keys. I highly doubt any of this new technology will last this long.
But then i have to remind myself that we live in a capitalist and planned obsolescence society. Everyone's making everything cheaper these days so they break sooner and you have to spend more money...while corporations rake in billions...
