In February, 2022 my medical card was expired and I took the new one before expired old one. And I sent new medical card to my company to update DMV. And I work till May 2022 and I left vocation to overseas. I came back last week and yesterday I was noticed my Cdl license has been canceled. I called DMV but nobody answered. And I check my Cdl status on dmv website, there is shown NO medical card. I wondered and I’ve checked my dot medical card, and I see there is my driver license number written wrong. What can I do now? If I go to DMV, will they renew my Cdl or they make me retest? Or should I go to clinic which gave me wrong medical card. Please, give me information about this. Thanks

    your company updates the dmv?
You have to update at dmv here, or do it online, but you have to be the one.

Good lesson on not relying on others.

I think just go back to clinic and have them write a new medical card with correct CDL number. Then send that to the state to update your medical card in their system.

In my state your CDL can expire and they give you 6 months past the expiration date on your CDL to just go back and renew it without any testing. I had trouble getting a birth certificate and my state would not renew CDL without that or passport card. Kinda crazy in my opinion but that's how it seems to be. So yours sounds like a simple fix of just getting correct CDL number on a medical card and send that to the state.

You probably will need to keep carry the long form medical papers work with you in truck plus the medical card. Until the state updates their system showing you have valid medical card. So they probably just have fill out the long form again plus new medical card for you.

Its not uncommon,,,I know it happens to others..always get a copy of the medical for yourself just in case this happens. Your medical clinic can issue a new one,,hover over them while they send it to DMV:D

Had an issue with my license few years.

Dr. Forgot to write down the expiration date of his practice, nothing said and they reduced my license to a standard license.

I had to go back to the Dr. and get a new physical written out, this time I took it straight to the DMV and watched them put it in the system.

Sometimes it sucks depending on others…..

    My license = My responsibility
    Different states = Different rules
In Texas your license will be downgraded at the next DMV transaction ,,(renewal).
Texas also has an app that you can check your status.

I work for a huge company and they put it on us to get the information to the state.
While they have a fax option to update, most of us just go to a small licensing center where they put it into the computer system and then put a state stamp on it to confirm..pia

4 Steps to keeping your CDL active with regards to your DOT Medical Exam

    1. Go to doctor and get the DOT Medical Exam
    2. Doctor/nurse completes the exam and issues you "long form" and DOT Medical Exam Certificate (DOT Medical Card)
    3. Complete your state's process for self-certification of your new DOT Medical Card and which of 4 options you are using your CDL.
    4. Verify your state has your new DOT Medical Card info in their records.

I have followed the first 3 steps and received over the phone at the official phone number the state has received my new DOT Medical info. Then about 2 weeks later I received a letter saying my OLD DOT medical card has expired and since no new DOT Medical Card has been received, my CDL is downgraded. I recommend you do the 4 steps above and print off from the state website their verification of your new DOT Medical Card has been received. Then keep your long-form, your DOT Medical Card, and state verification with you until you replace it with a new medical card.

It's your CDL. It's more important to you than to your boss or anyone else.
