Those days are gone forever. Like the small town dirt tracks... Graded loop on a clay field, sunken worn out tires (car size) around the outer fringe for you to stand behind or lean on while they are in the other side... Slat shack with drinks and snacks, half mile of 60 watt bulbs strung on the electric co op's poles.
On the higher speed tracks, used sunken tractor tires as railing... Safety plan was commensurate with track speed....
Drive 130 miles from West Point, MS to W. Memphis, AR track.. Sit in a grandstand (small) and sip "Salty Dogs" to enhance the race experience.
This was just before dog racing in W. Mphs.
What if it Snows?

@Judge, you recall pre I55 when AR scales was a coop on the levee you topped, he stuck your tanks with a coat hanger, you paid fuel tax in cash, and pulled off onto Broadway to head SLooie. Not aging you but that landscape was vastly different pre I55 and I40.DeereRunner97, pete781693, Feedman and 5 others Thank this. -

I had a guy stick my tanks the other day.
I asked him what he was looking for, my only an idiot would hide his stache in plain sight.
He wanted to search, i told him not without warrant stating what he was looking for, and then only what was stated would be held.
I don’t have anything to hide, even my pistols are at home right now.DeereRunner97, pete781693, austinmike and 10 others Thank this. -

1) Nice to see the weather guessers adopt such accurate and applicable term.
2) You're Welcome (instead of your welcome). I have been/will be Patients which usually has and will require Patience.
C) I recall the wonderful yet apparently useless Cone of Silence as have been seen in some Get Smart episodes.DeereRunner97, Feedman, dwells40 and 3 others Thank this. -

I suspect when you get your starter changed out and cleanly wired, some of these will go away. Just been my experience on various equipment.
Best odd item an equipment mechanic can carry is a 3' long piece of 1/2' round stock, encased in 2' piece of 1/2" PVC. Heavy enough to jab a stuck brush starter yet avoid those sparkling contact as you probe down. ( A regular builders crowbar will work, but the crooks seem to be in the wrong positions.)DeereRunner97, austinmike, 77fib77 and 5 others Thank this. -
