Truck driver aiding Walmart shooting victim dies after police body slam him

As if law enforcement wasn’t doing enough damage control as it is-now you have to worry about getting killed by them for being a Good Samaritan!!!

I remember a thread a few months back where I warned about being a good samirtan for reasons like this, but I was flamed for it.

 

I hate to have to agree with you, but in the world today there is too much legal liability or even problems like displayed in this story.

I'll render aid if I can and am the only one, but really don't want to open myself up to problems. If there are others that can do it, I'd stand back and let them. Sorry if it sounds selfish but it's self preservation.

 

No good deeds left unpunished then?

 

When you do a good deed, you shouldn't stick around to receive your hero cookie. Leave the perp to bleed out and then talk to the cops over the phone... from a distance. And probably not even then.

I seen a guy in wal mart have some kind of attack and fell straight back, pulling cart back on top of himself.
I turned and walked away.
When asked “Wtf, why didn’t you help?”
I replied simply, but truthfully, “I didn’t feel like getting shot.”
Good samaritans always get one or two things, award or shot, most get shot, or stabbed.
Now body slammed.

 

Cops are basically out of control……

There are millions of situations where someone can be a good Samaritan every single year, out of all those, a few mishaps are going to happen
The odds of you getting killed helping a stranger are vanishingly small
Dont let fear keep you from doing the right thing

We need to calculate risk much better than we do
I have European friends that fear visiting the US because they worry they will be involved in a mass shooting
