It is not a well traveled Highway for trucks. The GPS is never going to route you that way because it is way longer... so a lot of drivers don't know about it, which is fine with me.. the only trucks u going to see on that road is local guys , like loggers and fuel haulers... not much car traffic either.. The road is maintained ok. But you gonna have to be careful regardless because it will be snow covered and it's a secondary Highway so they don't focus a lot of maintenance on it.. But I've never been on it where it was not passable... I think the speed limit is 65 but don't expect to drive fast even if it's dry. Lots of wildlife on that road as well as a couple small towns to go thru... u will lose cell service outside of the town's but it's not that bad... I used to run out of the stuzke stone quarry in Clark fork id and had some work over in plains MT and Thompson falls MT. So was on that Highway a couple times a week..there's a hole in the wall truckstop in plains MT right next to the DOT pullout... it don't look like a truckstop from the road but there's a huge dirt lot in the back that's nice and quiet... it's listed on truckerpath I think ..

I saw the weigh station but on Google satellite view I don't see a truck stop? I see the "Lewis and Clark Whitewater" place and then I see the Expresso Coffee Shack and they both have dirt lots but neither one looks like a truck stop?
On TruckersPath App the only one listed is "Conoco Town Pump" right after the weight station but on satellite view there's a Sinclair but there's no place for trucks there, doesn't even look like they have diesel pumps there? On TruckersPath App that truck stop "Conoco Town Pump" only has 3 reviews and 1 says that it's "a few streets down the road" but that doesn't really help because I don't see anything.........
What truck stop are you talking about could you give me a name to put into Google Maps so I can save it for future reference? And have you ever seen it full at nighttime (Can't really get a good feel for whether it fills up or not on TruckersPath App because it's such an out of the way place that nobody hardly ever updates the status)?D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -

Made it to the Arlington yard, finally. One downside of working here is where they're located...to get to the home office you have to deal with Seattle traffic. Beautiful scenery up in this area, but unless you come in and out overnight, Seattle almost always has excessive traffic issues that rival Atlanta, NYC or LA. Coming thru there just after 14:00 yesterday added almost an hour to my travel time. Then I almost get stuck in their drop area. Some sort of local ordinance required them to have a certain percentage of their property to have some place the water could soak into the ground, they couldn't just pave the whole lot. So, they have this non-compacting gravel where we drop trailers(with concrete pads for the landing gear). And it's like driving on beach sand. I almost got stuck climbing up and over the concrete pad. (Florida has the same kind of regulations, which is why you always see those little ponds around big D/Cs). And there seems to be a fair number of trucks here again, so I suspect I will be getting another reset up here...good thing I am on the guaranteed daily pay program. But at least I am not in the Dakotas or Minnesota where there might be the seasons 1st blizzard taking place. I looked at my radar app yesterday, it was in the 60's in the twin cities and in the 20's in Fargo. Big temp change means wild weather...

company.
They had me lined up for a 9' wide 11' tall OD hazmat load out of Washington going to Michigan, but didn't get it. I was cautiously optimistic when he called, and somewhat disappointed when it fell thru, but it is now in the system that I am willing to pull OD loads...maybe one day I can eventually be like @kylefitzy pulling the big boy loads.Last edited: Nov 10, 2022
