That one in Rising Fawn looks like a 5-year-old girl drew the plans for getting in and out
of it. And I hate to insult kindergarten girls! But man, that place is tough to get in. And
once you get in, cross your fingers there isn't a traffic jam or sudden rush for dinner!

You were correct too though, DNA Mach. Right before Williams bought Mapco out, they contracted with
Perkins for a couple years. Then they suddenly decided to try their own experience with running a
restaurant. Mmmm, that chicken noodle soup makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
Why oh why, did Pilot come along and ruin everything? Mr. Haslam thinks running a truck stop
means putting in a McDonald's and Subway in at every exit.Dna Mach Thanks this. -
You mean they plan on leaving it like that? No public facilities except for
portable stuff? Sheesh, that's a great way to plan going out of business fast.Still undecided Thanks this. -
Has anyone been to the flying j/pilot in Texarkana off i30
There’s some kinda advertisement kept going on on the cb there in the area on 19 has anyone else been hearing about it… it sounds like a lady keep saying same thing over every 15 minJoeyJunk Thanks this. -
I never go into that cluster, but make a lot of round trips by there. And I often hear the lady you're talking about but haven't been able to understand what she is saying. There is an XXX type of store at that exit though. Could be advertising that.

You got that right! That’s one of the few remaining truck stops that had its parking lines painted long before the ‘53 foot trailer was conceived and never changed the layout accordingly. Probably because the place has been packed since 1985. Lots of people have lost hoods in that lot over the years. Kentucky still has a few really old rest areas that are the same configuration.JoeyJunk Thanks this.

The bar you're thinking of was called Jimmy Doyle's Country and it was next door to the Petro in North Little Rock.
The story of Jimmy Doyle's Country Club
I'm pretty sure there's not a bar anywhere near the Petro in Amarillo. Although if you ever have a layover in Amarillo and don't mind taking a cab or an Uber (I strongly recommend Uber, it's #### near impossible to get a cab in Amarillo), there's a bar near downtown called I Don't Know that has over 300 beers on draft. Literally, a huge wall of nothing but beer taps.
What a dump. It might be better since they remodeled, but the parking lot is probably still all jacked up.JoeyJunk and TruckerLlew Thank this. -
Hey probably meant Buckles next to the Loves in Amarillo.
How come Google maps doesn't show anything named "I don't know" in Amarillo?JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
I go a pretty bad case of food poisoning from the Greater Chicago TS. Fun times.JoeyJunk Thanks this.

I just checked their Google maps listing and apparently they have closed down. When looking at the building from street view there is a banner across the front that says Amarillo Senior Citizens Center.
But the Firehouse is still good, and I believe the Big Texan has a selection of beers as well.
