LOL. That's why I said they were just OK!
Just read that their time off policy caps at 8 days off in a row. That sucks when flying international. El Paso Terminal may be better than Kankakee for international travel. As my name suggests, I like south. El Paso is also All OTR and not regional/local. IMMa take a look at El Paso International Airport flights. I want to travel Central and South America, Caribbean, and SE Asia/ Oceana.
Can't ever seem to get what I want precisely.

I was actually going to drive for them out of El Paso when an oilfield offer came in that. Having lived there for nearly a decade, El Pao airport sucks. You can pretty much only fly to PHX, DFW, IAH, DIA, or points southward, and the flights are pretty expensive.southtruck Thanks this.

@MN nice1 your post has no content.
Anyway... Had to scratch Schneider off the list. Too bad. I really liked the jet set program and terminals but the days off aren't stackable. I asked them to reconsider this policy in the future. I understand they don't want to have trucks idle but as a jet setter I'm basically a fill in guy for dedicated. So that makes little sense to me. I'm always be slips seating. I'm going to pair down my short list this weekend.
K.and B is still in it so there's always SUX t o O'Hare or Denver. -
Probably better off...they have been known to be doing bait and switch. Show me one Schneider tanker driver making 95k....yeah I thought so...
I recommend Crete/Shaffer. Lots of terminals, good pay and excellent shop mechanics!
Let us know which company you choose.southtruck Thanks this. -
Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. As someone who travels a lot and hates waiting in line, if you haven't done the following I would encourage you to get Global Entry (comes with TSA Pre-check). Since we've had it, we get through Customs about as fast as we can walk. Also add CLEAR. Together both can save you a lot of time at the airport. Also you can find a lot of direct flights to places all of the world from ATL and many others with only one connecting flight.
southtruck Thanks this. -
ATL is definitely one of the better hubs. MY current employer has a quasi OTR positions out of Atlanta. Maybe worth a look.
I have been with my current employer a long time. I have six weeks total PTO so this is why I will not settle for 7 on 1 off BS.
Do better, trucking companies. We work our ##### off. we deserve time off, Paid or unpaid. -
I applied for an OTR position with my current employer out of Denver, Not my ideal location for what I want to do but this will let me experience the interview process. The PTO and non PTO of these megas is not acceptable no matter where I look.
Plus The move will net me a substantial pay increase if I get it. So in the end I guess I ain't got it so bad here if I just explore a little.
Here's hoping for Houston or ATL! I got my alerts on for all the locations and finding out the pay increase to go OTR is definitely a plus.
It's not true OTR. It's more regional, but if I get a descent home port I will be happy. -
Pay should be higher too. This $1200/ week crap needs to go out the window.
Why should some pissant office employee (dispatch) who sits at a desk for 40 hours a week, earn more than a driver working 7 days, driving 60 to 70 hours a week, away from home, doing free labor such as fueling, paperwork, lumper payments maintenance etc...?
It's absurd.
Drivers working 7 days should make $2200- $2500 minimum. Plus benefits. Or more. -
Can you recommend a temp agency that operates in Austin, Los Angeles, and San Diego?
