Got my load delivered just fine this morning. No real drama on the trip up here. A little weather, but nothing spectacular. The last grade as you come into Albuquerque was slushy, and SLC had a brief snow burst, but once I got to Ogden it was fine. Idaho was dry, but windy...and cold. Now I am in Caldwell camping out. I have an 8 am set appointment to pick up a load going down by San Antonio. Not sure what it is, but the customer makes power units and cooling units for the oil and gas industry. 9 pieces, but only grosses 10k lbs. So I might luck out and have another 'no tarp' load.

Looks like @supersnackbar is staying pretty busy.

After 9 days at home the boss told my lazy ### to get back to work. Bobtailed to Wichita and grabbed a stretch rgn, now back home for the night. I’ll head for East Moline, Illinois around lunchtime tomorrow. Loading a combine for a short 120 mile run to kill some time. I believe this is my first Wylie load.

Kick that off then load a show truck for Sunny Califorina.

Since the New Year, all my trip numbers have been Wylie numbers starting with a 1, until this load. This one is an old SPD(RMG) trip number.

Just curious, what do you do with that long conestoga trailer you have pulled in the past? That thing has got to be a fun trailer to maneuver into a parking spot in the Wichita yard when it's full

There are 4 trailers, two of each. All of them haul wing skins. They actually haul the same wing skins just is different stages of the process.

This is a 64’ double drop with the axles at the rear. Longer but easier to back into a spot if needed. Runs from tx-ga-tx 83628F7E-32F6-4EB1-9005-15E2196E1844.jpeg

These trailers are 60’ stepdecks but have a 15’ spread axle set up. Easier to get around but almost impossible to get into or out of a spot without taking someone’s hood off. Ks-ga-ks. 9C0B2279-51B7-4623-92F0-1C11585D63BA.jpeg

Both trailers, and anything long, you have to pick your spots carefully. These run a pretty regular route so you figure out where you can get into and out of. I tend to stay at rest areas or old truck stops with these trailers. If I’m parking early enough I’ll try to get a straight out spot at a truckstop.

On our 35 ton trailers the difference is about 4K pounds. I’m right about 44k empty with a stretch.

    D.Tibbitt and Winnyf1 Thank this.
