I have never seen enough of a price break on larger quantities to make it worth the hassle going bigger than 1 gallon jugs. 2.5 gallon jugs maybe but it gets heavy and harder to pour in without making a mess the bigger the container gets. But otherwise I am a big fan of doing your own oil changes for a couple reasons.

I’ve been doing my own oil changes ever since I caught TA crackhead mechanic not change my oil or filters and try to roll me off the shop, still freshly remembering how another idiot at Love’s over-filled my little D13 Volvo engine with 12 gallons of oil. And than they ask to pay them hundreds of dollars.

Use rotella t4 and change all 3 of my filters every 10-12k miles, oil, fuel, and separater. Do oil analysis every once in a while and my 2016 isx15 cm2350 (inside a 17 t680) with about 630,000 (18000 hours) miles and everything is good. I've heard too many horror stories to have anyone else change my oil and filters. That and I hate paying anyone to do such a simple job.
Really have my fingers crossed I can get this isx15 to at least 1 million miles before it needs to have an inframe.Rideandrepair, Oxbow and spindrift Thank this. -

Lol, man when I first started there was so much spilled lol, now I can do it without a drop on the ground.
Have a 50L oil pan, square metal one on wheels with a grille on top, avoids any splashes, drain the oil out, I don't use any quick drains, just standard 1/2 inch drive, bought a hand pump use that to pump the oil in, its a nice big one which I added hose to so that I don't have to lift any oil drums up, just pump it from the ground.
Then I pump the old oil from the pan into the 20L drums the new oil comes in.
Have the milwaukee grease gun, makes it so much easier, but I hate greasing the truck, it does get easier, but a fat man crawling under the rear ends sucks.wore out and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Has anyone used a waste oil burner to burn the old oil and heat their pool?
I have been saving the old oil for winter, have about 400L, was thinking of trying to burn it to heat the pool..any suggestions?Rideandrepair Thanks this.
