You hv too much exp & probably make .05 more than a rookie. Common for a 25-30 yr exp driver to get starved out. Wotc is 100% in full effect. Hire x military for the 50k tax credit or a minority x con for a double tax credit. I was trained by the head of the dot at the biggest pipeline co in America & in charge of the worlds strongest hhg rig & all the trucks, maintenance, etc. super tanker, permit loads, etc . It’s like a broken record all you old school guys can drive anything. All get the most beat up trks. Always in the northeast. W2 co.s are pathetic. So I tried the 1099 Chicago co.s same thing I got the biggest pile of junk. I,m 2 inches shorter in 2 yrs that’s a beating. The newer trks go to the 3rd world country drivers- idiots. Still run the ne. They rip you off tens of thousands of dollars. I rarely run into a driver with exp from the 70,s or 80,s like myself. No one wants to hire drivers with a lot of exp. 1 reason is if I,m doing short haul loads in the ne. I say I hv to get 300.00. We got that in 03 . None of the newer drivers know any of this. Just go work in a mill or warehouse like all the other older drivers. They make 10 + more an hr more than drivers.

Meaning they get the original rate, then sell the route to an O/O for less and pocket the difference. Illegal, but easy money and almost risk free. -
I think it was in 2009, but maybe before that. Anyway 70k in 2009, where are we today? Less or about the same.
New drivers think 60k is big money. The old hands were making that years ago- and the cost of living was less. -
