A ramp is much safer than just sitting on the side of the highway where you have people that go by you at 70+ that don't move over.

And yet, of all states, California allows you, and encourages you to use off ramps and on ramps on the 8,15,40 out in the desert.

I've done that before, but sometimes there's a dirt lot near the interchange, so I park there if I can.
But it surprised me that California of all places has no issue with that. -
Best sleep is in Utah on an on ramp or one of those side pullouts. It’s 50 or so degrees, gentle breeze. Open the window and let the sound of the road drown you to sleep

I know many of you go to SoCal a lot and whatnot but heads up if you have any idea’s of parking at petro in Ontario most likely the ta as well…

If you left during the rush in the morning the security guy used to just leave the gate open and let everyone out. But it’s been a few yearsJohnBoy Thanks this.

It was sort of like that this past xmas..he had the gates but he was asking tickets when they weren’t giving them…I left

Good on them. Unless you know some hidey holes there ain’t much in terms of spots to stop if you’re out in that area.
