Remember when corporations didn’t chip away at everything to make a buck. Even Freightliners had metal coolant tanks, but some pencil neck saw they could save by using plastic. And, I’m not sure inflation even justifies that gouging you took!!

I never mentioned this, but I was very surprised that Tim McCormick, who's the president and CEO of FCC, took the time out of his day to visit with me in orientation for a few minutes. And more surprised that he sent a typed letter in the mail welcoming me to the company. Virtually no CEO, especially in this industry, would ever think to do anything like that. It made a great impression on me. FCC truly does care about its employees. Screenshot_20230502_082815_Gallery.jpg

That's one of the biggest obstacles I have at deciding whether or not I want to lease or buy my own truck in the future. More independence and possibly better money just isn't worth all the extra stress and stuff in my eyes. Plus with all the benefits and things I would lose if I wasn't a W2 employee.

It definitely isn't for everyone, some don't run hard enough to be a company driver in the first place. Some run their but off, but don't understand this is a business you are running, and fail due to poor decisions. Find what works for you and be the best at it....personally I love the challenges and tax benefits that come with owning your own business, I run another business at home, so I have plenty of recipes to manage each month lol most people would pull their hair out but I love it

So I dropped the Sioux City load in KCMO since it deliver until Thursday, grabbed one off the yard going down to Columbia, Sc for Thursday or Friday.

Crazy money for a molded piece of plastic. I guess it could have been worse, could have been the cheap plastic radiator. My Freightliner radiator cracked at the bottom edge, spent three days in the shop dealing with that.

    BigR and trucknguy Thank this.
