It’s nice to get a quick reload out of the home area. I’m sure those lifts are moving like crazy right now.

COTC seems to haul a lot of what I call “undesirable freight”. Scrap paper, crushed and bundled scrap steel, ect.

They do pay pretty decent, mid 60’s CPM and $100 to tarp. Plus when you get to the main yard, they fuel and park your truck for you. Not sure how I would like that but definitely different.

Plus your truck is married to the same trailer so if you get a good one(or get it worked on so it is a good one), you get to keep it that way and not adopt someone elses defects that never got written up.

This weeks settlement is in, and it is no longer being processed by Roadmaster, it's coming from Wylie now. And, I underestimated my miles for the month, once I empty out in south FL on Wednesday, I will have just cracked the 12k threshold. Not bad considering how many 34's I had waiting on freight.

This is going to be one of my longest trips since I started here. Going from the Seattle area all the way down north of Homestead...3463 loaded miles...to quote McDonald's "baaaa da dat da daaa, I'm lovin it'

Have a friend that worked there. He said the pay was decent and he did get $100 to tarp. Downside was he had to tarp just about every load.

I took a closer look at my final delivery. It's not north of Homestead, it's just south of Homestead. This will be the farthest south I have ever driven in my career. The only way to go farther south would be go to the Keys, or take a ferry to Cuba and deliver aircraft parts to Gitmo.

I breezed thru the driver forum video from last week and this week, I heard it mentioned that they're getting a different brand of APU, I heard them say 'like the Carrier system we currently have'...what brand are they going to? Or are they gonna do that KW battery pack crap that so many companies have tried and moved away from because drivers hate it so much.

Tri packs. We tested them a few years ago and liked them so much we decided to stick with Carier units. But Wylie runs tri packs so that’s what we get. Same with paccar motors and peoplenet. Three things we were actively moving away from due to continued issues.

That being said, I’ve heard good things about the tri packs. They are quieter. It’s a much simpler system since it doesn’t have a generator that powers the HVAC system. It’s just an alternator and AC compressor driven by a small Diesel engine. All the 120 volt A/c power in the bunk is from an 1800 watt inverter. The heating function is from the wabasto bunk heater.

I always preferred the tri pack system.

Me too. The only ones I ever had issues with were the ones Crete tried, but didn't do adequate maintenance with. I was kinda hoping they were gonna try the Green APU....but any of them are better than the EPU battery pack crap.

With 135k on my truck, I suspect it will be quite a while before I see a new truck, so we may be solar powered by the time it's my turn.
