To be honest, I wouldn't piss on that Otis facility if it were on fire. The closest I ever want to get to there is driving by on the interstate. Kone elevator loads suck, but Otis can go out of business and I wouldn't care. I don't even like riding in an Otis elevator after dealing with their facilities. Double what they paid you, and I would still rather sit... that's how much I despise Otis!!

It's not about money...I just hate hauling Otis, especially out of that plant.

Nah. I have to disagree sir. It’s all about the $$$$ if I’m away from home.

Haul an Otis load out of that plant and you would change your mind, unless they got rid of the Otis guys that were there when I picked up a while back. The term lazy ### isn't a strong enough description for them. Got most of my load staged eventually, but took them several more hours to hunt down a couple pieces that needed to be on my load, then they found them, burried behind some other stock and they said "f-it, I ain't digging them out" (with a forklift), then took so long to load me, the SPD weekend boss hopped on the company Moffitt and started loading 3x faster. I think I was there 8 or 9 hours BEFORE I could start securing, which has to be done outside because the docks are just barely wider than the trailer. The only positive about that place is they have a tarp shed with a tarp crane(that was missing a bunch of hooks). If asked to load there again, I think I would rather sit and contemplate my future as a flatbedder before loading there again.

I’ve had to load daily at GM Flint Metal Center. Otis doesn’t sound that bad.

Working on the weekend dock has nothing to do with hauling elevators. I moved one trailer 4’ then set in the truck for the rest of the shift. Usually the normal dock guys (spd) marks the rails and you move them with the forklift. It was raining so we couldn’t pull and stage rails for next weeks loads. Easiest $432 I’ve ever made.

Well my 12,000 mile month just went to ####. Got to Jacksonville and they said all loads need a booking number, which we don't have -and- they have to schedule an offload appointment for a forklift since these are side loaded....which we didn't set. Now there is no friggin way to get this delivery and the south FL delivery done by tomorrow (south FL stops receiving at 1500)...And things were going so good today. My Carrollton delivery was done and I was rolling before their usual start time, a mechanic was there working on equipment, saw me pull in and had his forklift idling beside my truck before I could get the chains off both sides.

At a minimum ask your fm to split the load. That way you get most of the miles on this month. Maybe they can find a location to unload them and reload from the back if the customer has a dock? Can’t help with the booking number, hopefully that’s an easy process. Sounds like an error on the shippers part.

my Monday is not going that great either. At 0600 o was at my customer to start the unload/reload process. They never came to get me, and around 8 my FM said head north to get a trailer out of the drop yard 90 miles away. There were delays on we the weekend and the customer can’t unload that trailer until the end of the week. I grabbed a flat and I load 13’6” wide tires going to Arizona. Going to be real tight/impossible to make it by closing time Friday so I might be stuck for 6 1/2 days on a 2000 mile run.

I will check about the split load option. Not sure if there is anyone that'll pull these off from the side with a forklift and set them back on lengthwise. I have one big one on the back that was driven on because it's too big to sit sideways, but these little ones might fit side by side if someone could turn them for me.
