An old man's career goes flat, Snackbar moves to open deck

Why waste money on Uber, I have PC, but I don't want to stay at another company's terminal all weekend

 

Messaged my dispatcher. He said there is a load planned on my truck, they're just waiting on the details before sending. Pickup in Ennis tomorrow headed for WA, so I'll get a reset in. I was in for hometime after the 4th, might be a little later than that. Mrs. Snackbar asked if I need directions to the house since I haven't seen it in a while. I told her I've only been out since mid-May...she said try again, it was mid-April when you left...I checked, and she was right. (And not just right because she's the wife, she really was right).

Just got a call from dispatch, we might have the load for me to WA, we might not. Won't know until tomorrow....so I might be SOL for the whole weekend after all. Boy, I am glad to see all the changes to equipment and jumping thru all the b.s. hoops with changing all the permits and licensing to make us more compatible with We-lie's system so we can haul their cheap -n- heavy freight is paying off.

 

Yeah, I use to stay at that Love's back when I was hauling glass out of the glass plant south of there for Wy-Moore.

 

Change of plans...still picking up at the same shipper in Ennis, but instead of going to WA, I am going to SoCal, to what looks like a jobsite in the middle of nowhere. I am picking up shrink-wrapped fencing. They won't load me until afternoon Saturday, but want it there by noon on Monday. The reviews of the shipper aren't the best, many of which say to bring food because you're gonna be there a while. Plus the business hours on Google Maps say they're closed on the weekend, so who knows how accurate that is. It may be time to cue the tune to Final Jeopardy because it sounds like it's gonna be a long day.
