Do you have the option of plugging it in to shore power where you park?

    MidWest_MacDaddy and cdavis188 Thank this.

A few years I had an intermittent electrical problem with mine that nobody including carrier could track down so I took it to the apu center in Springfield mo to let them have a Crack at it ..
While there we were discussing drain intervals from the standpoint of getting max hours out of the engine ...mine are very conservative even with full synthetic oil.
He then gave me a tour of the warehouse full of scrap low hour kubota z482 engines ( carrier ) and scrap low hour yanmar engines ( thermo king).
All had one thing in common: they were sludged up so bad they died of oil starvation due to little or no maintenance .
What kind of idiot pays 12k for an apu and doesent take care of it is beyond me.

Also the plan of going to Fremont after Schuyler got scrapped. Dispatch needed me to pick up a trailer at Overhead Door in Grand Island going out to Wisconsin. The plan is to drop this in Council Bluffs and then have my truck serviced there.

    BigR and bzinger Thank this.

My trailer isn't ready yet. I'm gonna drop my empty and bobtail to Walmart to grab some food. I'm not sure how long my fridge was off so I had to toss my lunch meat and grapes that I left over the weekend.

    dwells40 and bzinger Thank this.

Yeah, I just follow the same service intervals they did when it was a company truck for the most part, except I do my own grease job's every 10k, they shoot for 8k

Those kubotas are solid engines and are known to live into the low 40s with excellent maintenance.

cdavis188, BigR and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this.

The importance of scaling your load, especially if you're dropping it in a yard. Had I not scaled and adjusted my tandems, and dropped this in the yard, the next driver might've already assumed that I scaled it. Then he hooks up to it, goes, and would be in a world of hurt if he were pulled into a scale house. Screenshot_20230717_195946_Drive.jpg 20230717_195913.jpg
