Dropped my load in New Braunfels. Taking my 10 in their off site drop yard. I'm not sure if I'm technically allowed to do that but there's a couple of other trucks here and no signs saying I can't, so...

I will roll out at 6:30 tomorrow morning and pick up a preloaded trailer up in Dallas to take through the house. It's going to Harrisonville, MO but dispatch will coordinate with another driver to pick it up in Salina on Monday.

685 miles to where I park my truck. In a perfect world I'd be able to do that, but driving through Dallas I probably won't. I'll probably end up stopping at the Love's in McPherson tomorrow evening then driving the extra half hour home Sunday morning.

Hey that pos life partner of mine won't do my laundry for me so I think he's fired lol.
Seriously I'm turning and burning out Tuesday morn so I'm not even gonna home cause my better half won't be there and when I get home I don't wanna leave lol.

Preliminarily Scheduled for orientation August 8th.
It's been a roller coaster. Talked to Ryan Wednesday and he said I was all good except he needed my permission to contact my current employer and verify my employment then get me approved by safety. I told him I'd check with the family and get a final okay. I went ahead and called the second in command at my current place and gave my notice so he heard it from me first and then called Ryan back and gave him the okay to proceed. Proceeded to freak out a few hours later (the bad thing about driving at night is you have lots of time to think) and convinced myself that I was an idiot for giving notice before I had gotten a firm commitment from FCC to hire me. About broke down in tears at the warehouse. I hate the place but love my bros.
It doesn't help that I'm still trying to process the divorce. We've been married 31 years. Grew up together in a lot of ways (married at 21 but were still naïve kids in a lot of ways).
Ryan called the next day and needed my W-2s for the last 3 years since my employer uses some weird website for employment verification that requires a subscription. That's very on brand for my current place, they have enough tech-company remoras hanging on it's a wonder the shark can move (I have something like 10 bookmarks on my browser for different parts of HR).
An hour or so later he called me back and told me safety had signed off on me. I think I said thanks enough to start annoying him. I had myself so worked up that it was all going to fall apart that it felt like a stay of execution.
Doing it over again I'd have waited to call the boss until we got to the end of the road and then tried to paper it over. It would have been a lot easier on my blood pressure.
They are going to have me do a physical and a drug test Wednesday. I have a medical card until April 2024 but Ryan said they have do a new one unless I had one within the last six months.
Plan is my last day at the current place is August 4, will fly to Omaha on the 7th, have Orientation on the 8th, then get dispatched on the 9th.

Though unlike Fremont which you have 24/7 access to the lounge, showers, and laundry, CB terminal is closed on the weekend and from 11-6 overnight on weekdays. You still have access to the yard 24/7.

I think you'll be very surprised in a good way. Tim McCormick, president of the company, meets with every person coming through orientation. He actually typed a letter that arrived in my mailbox a few days later. I've never worked somewhere where the president of the company wanted to meet with every person that came onboard and speak with them. That's what sold me on FCC during my orientation.
