I'm a month in now and took a half a day off in iowa to just rest relax and reflect .
They kinda raced thru orientation and I was was the only one there and it was alot to absorb with many details missed and felt kinda kicked out on my own....Fortunately I've had @runningman0661 as a mentor here and many thanks to him!
Even if the sob calls me his life partner and won't do my forking laundry ...hense why I gave him the finger on 77 in Virginia the other day ...preek !
Anyway food for thought on orientation.

 

For your payroll cut off question. It's midnight Tues night/Wed morning. You have to have your paperwork submitted by that time to be paid for it that Friday.

 

I have had the thought more than once during the online orientation that there is no way I am going to remember all of this stuff.

 

they do reviews with you every 30 days for 3 months. You can also just call your dispatcher if you have any questions. They're more than happy to help or direct you to a person that can help you.

 

Another driver met me this morning and we switched trailers. He took my loaded and gave me his empty. Apparently he lives in McPherson but grew up here in Salina. Didn't know there were a lot of drivers living here in Kansas. Small world we live in.

Opted to take today off as well. Had to put one of my cars in the shop for a tire rotation and A/C issues. Will leave town tomorrow morning.

 

Headed back to Ellabell for Monday live unload. Took a 34 on Sunday and was hoping to spend the day with my daughter who lives in Savannah but they unfortunately had plans so missed that opportunity.

Got my reload return load from SC to Chicago but was quickly taken off that then eventually put on a load of Paper Rolls out of SC heading to Fort Dodge for Wednesday morning. Then I’ll probably head back to the Greater Omaha area for a delayed Shop Visit which will probably be a bit time consuming this time.
