A few years ago I thought it would be fun to have a camper van set up for a pilot car. Run around and work and then try and get to someplace I’d like to spend a few days at and ride bike. I researched exactly nothing other than daydreaming about doing it.

If you try the pilot car game and you like it you might find yourself working more than you want to. A good pilot or pole car driver is like a good driver or mechanic...hard to find and hard to keep.
Once you do it awhile and build up a good reputation your phone will ring a lot.
We mostly use our retirees for pilots. They like the work, know the drill, and we know we can trust them.
I also have a short list of good pilots to call when we get in a jam...the retirees can be a little hard to find during deer season, trout season, salmon season, duck season, crab season and I don't blame them...and a real long list of pilots that we don't call. -
How long have you been a pilot car operator? I have a trucking company, but I’m looking to branch out into another gig and was curious about this. Would love to chat.blairandgretchen Thanks this.
