I'm a wife not a trucker so dont flog me please. My husband reacenly got hiered on with Knight. He went through school and had to fullfill a year contract with the company that paid for it. So yes they do hier CDL School grads. Knight runs every were, were you get hiered is were you will run. I can not speak yea or neh if they are a good company or not as of right now but I will let every one know quickly if something goes bad, or if something does right. My father is a trucker has been long sence I was born. So I do know a thing or two about the lifestyle. Also I thought I should mention that Knight has a standard fleet of Volvos and Peterbuilt trucks. My husband learned the hard way about it. The school he went to tought drivers in standards and the company he worked for drove automatics he is having to get back into the swing of things after a year of not driving one.

I'm a wife not a trucker so please don't flog me. My hubby just go on with Knight he is going to run the East Coast out of their TN. office. I can't say yea or neh on the company just yet. I will say they don't tell you much on thier trucks either. He found out they run standards the last company that he worked for was the one that paid his schooling (no not Swift I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole). Thier fleet was all automatic Volvos and Frieghtliners with a few Internationals. Thankfully the school he was in trained all drivers in standards. So a fair warning to all new drivers if you do not know your way around a standard do not apply.

  4. THey are the same just a training division. I applied to them last year when I was just getting in the buisness. They have a division out of Fontana. Real hard to get into! When I called they were booked for months. From what I understand the trainers ride with you for six weeks and never drive. They sleep when you do and are only their to make you better. Sounded good to me. Never heard from them after applying.

The pathetic thing is that so many of the same people on here whine about the same thing about a lot of companies.

You are just not as accurate as you think you are - If you have gotten real good treatment - and some do - you are just lucky or a born company yes person. Good Luck and be sure to come back every quarter and tell the good things that have happened to you at the hands of greedy driver managers.

Knight currently requires 6 Months TR/TRL experience in the last year or 1 year in the last 5.

Finally found a company that can hire from Panama City Beach, FL but I don't meet the XP.

    WTF!!!!:biggrin_25523:

Funny how people speak so "highly" of Knight... My husband brought home 250.00$ last week and that is for an OTR driver, EVERY weekend he has been working for the "company" he's SAT, with NO LOADS. They say that he will have 10,000 miles for the month... he has 7800 miles for 6 weeks! I would not recommend ANYONE to work for this POS company!
