Hello Guys,
I am a college student, currently working on testing of class 8 CNG powered engine. I tried all available rental agencies that are available, but no luck so far. Our team is doing a research for my masters thesis, where we have to gather data from the J1939 CAN BUS from the diesel and CNG class 8 trucks. We got luck for diesel class 8 trucks and so now, we are looking for CNG. Prior to testing we need to install a non invasive sensor on the drive shaft.
During testing we will run the truck through different gears and throttles for three three hours on interstate or county roads with the help of driver. we are ready to compensate $1500 ~ $2500 for three hours of testing. Let me know if you're interested or someone can be of interest for our research.
Any help is appreciated.

I know it’s research and all, but it would help you out more if you list what type of research it is, what’s the pay, so on so forth. This will get you more bites.

No one rents those as far as I know. Never seen one at Penske, Ryder, or Paclease. They are a niche. Only a handful of companies are running them here. When they need a rental they get a diesel.

Edit - actually OP if you go on truckpaper and search for CNG trucks you will actually find people selling them. Give the listing a call and see what they say

Call your local Waste Management office, they have CNG trucks in most major cities.
