Been there done that too. We paved all those roads over by the KSU campus this spring and we we're coming in/out on that road, it doesn't look bad but in a truck it's horrible.

 

If there weren't any mention of extended warranty when ya bought it I doubt it. Doesn't hurt to ask though. DPF filter cleaning/or replacement is due at 500k, so I'd say they were just doing maintenance, no warranty connection. Factory warranty is up at 500k.... that's good they were keeping up on it though, and great you got some info. Any idea what company leased it? Being black, I'm sure it was a long term lease to a customer. That'd tell ya a little more about how it's been run, and where ect.

 

Also a small tidbit of history. An old Lockheed Constellation has been at the Salina Airport since the 60’s and has been stored for a large amount of that time on the far north end of the airfield.

I would think Penske could get you the entire maintenance history if they chose to, but what you learned is good to know. Sounds like Penske is similar to Ryder in that they fix a lot of items before sale. We used to inspect for Ryder Used Trucks and they spent a lot of money on repairs pre and post sale.

 

What, you never seen a 6'7" dude eating a windshield before? LOL

 

Especially on lease returns, they back charge the customer for any damages

 

The braking wasn’t that hard, it wasn’t like I was standing on them. The ELD didn’t even trip for a hard brake event. But I got #### close to his rear bumper.

 

Spent a lot of years in MBM garbage that'd they'd torn up of Ryder's lol
