I think you should let the Game & Fish folks know so they can update their census report for deer.

I'm sure he stopped and tried CPR on the deer.

Let me just say this about that. My union job, if there's damage to the truck, and almost always is, it was considered a reportable accident. Same with running over a curb and blowing a tire. One company a friend drove for, well known midwest mail/freight hauler, who was self insured, took the damage out of the drivers pay. Not sure that was kosher, but they did it. The boss claimed, "you should know where the deer are",,,yeah, that's what I thought too, idiot, but that's the bosses that are out there, or used to be. I know you are trying to do the right thing, and normally I'd say tell the company everything, but it seems petty instances, like animal shmearing, is just part of having a truck, or trucks and left unsaid. To penalize a driver for that, they can go pound sand.

I thought that the USPS would not allow that under their contract because USPS was union and wages were set by USPS with other contractual obligations.

    I'd call it an "incident"

It's very possible, if I told you the company, uhp, uhp, uhp, don't say it, I still have a friend that dispatches there, and they did a host of things I never thought was right, and why I never drove for them. They have since morphed into more of a regional freight hauler, as mail has gone down the tubes bigtime, I mean, who mails anything anymore, relatively speaking. I'll give you a hint, strictly mail hauling could have been their "Waterloo",,,

Appreciate the take. Yeah, I figured if I didn’t have to, why mention something that wasn’t my fault, but I figure if they call safety and find that out if I didn’t say anything about it, it might look bad, so thought I’d ask. Thanks

Never rat yourself out in this industry. Always, always give the minimum amount of information requested to answer questions that come up.
That doesn't mean you don't own up for #### you do wrong. Just don't go out of your way with the details that might make it worse.

    201 Thanks this.
