I think you should let the Game & Fish folks know so they can update their census report for deer.
Do I have to report animal strikes to companies I’m applying for?

Let me just say this about that. My union job, if there's damage to the truck, and almost always is, it was considered a reportable accident. Same with running over a curb and blowing a tire. One company a friend drove for, well known midwest mail/freight hauler, who was self insured, took the damage out of the drivers pay. Not sure that was kosher, but they did it. The boss claimed, "you should know where the deer are",,,yeah, that's what I thought too, idiot, but that's the bosses that are out there, or used to be. I know you are trying to do the right thing, and normally I'd say tell the company everything, but it seems petty instances, like animal shmearing, is just part of having a truck, or trucks and left unsaid. To penalize a driver for that, they can go pound sand.

I'd call it an "incident"

Never rat yourself out in this industry. Always, always give the minimum amount of information requested to answer questions that come up.
That doesn't mean you don't own up for #### you do wrong. Just don't go out of your way with the details that might make it worse.201 Thanks this. -
