So it looks like I won’t get out of the shop until sometime Monday. I had asked them to adjust my clutch brake while they had it in there. They e mailed me late last night and informed me that there is not enough adjustment left in the linkage to get to the clutch brake, they suggest putting in a new clutch. The truck is already down, so might as well get it done now, instead of the clutch sharting the bed in the middle of nowhere.

I only use the clutch to get it into 1st gear and reverse, but I have been having to force into 1st for awhile. This was a heartland express truck for the first 323K miles of its life, so who knows how much abuse that clutch took before I bought it.

Well, Saturday to Tuesday dealing with a massive oil leak and now a flat tire.

This one should not dent my day too much.

The odd thing is it didn’t look as if it actually punctured the interior of the tire but it cut a few cords and such in the tread that it’s not even repairable.

It probably had a rookie in it riding the clutch those first 300k is the shifter sloppy in gears also? The Peterbilt I am in here at fcc has been like that as well I think some drivers really have no idea how to shift so they just grind away.

    BigR and runningman0661 Thank this.

Started the week with a mishap, broke an airline trying to blindside into a tight hole at Bridgestone, so had to Cooter it together enough to get the trailer out of the way then bobtail out to get it fixed. While I was doing that they unassigned me from that load and put me on a load from Bolingbrook to Blair. So had to run back to Bridgestone and extract that trailer and then go around the corner and do a drop and hook.
Made it to Blair and then got picked up a relay in CB going to Denver (sigh, Pennsylvania). It was a typical grocery warehouse. Fortunately it only took 3 hours (30 odd minutes of that was waiting for the comcheck to get authorized). Now I’m sitting in Fleetwood PA waiting to pick up a broker load. I suspect it’s going to take a while. Once I get this I’m heading for a Pepsi warehouse in the KC metro.

FCC is very consistent with freight so your next quarter should be at least 30k

Was wondering if you were still here or had gone back to the previous gig.
