Not a good sign, I was with a company that bought out another and it wasn't pretty for the company that we bought. Lots of people that thought their jobs were secure were walked out. Driver relations were the first to go. Many people were escorted out of both buildings by the local cops. Wish you all the best. Think snackbar is right, this looks familiar.

Today's delivery and pick up went about as good as anyone could ask for. Got to my receiver early, no trucks ahead of me, so I backed right into the unloading spot. Had everything rolled up, and put away before they showed up, and was empty within about 30 minutes. The only glitch with the delivery was one missing piece, that really wasn't missing. It didn't get loaded at the plant, but I was given the B/L for it. I was told the weight was incorrect on the master B/L, but I wasn't informed why. Once it was all sorted out I headed to my next load. More racks out of Santa Fe Springs, CA going to Park City, KS. Easy to load and secure, and best of all, no tarps. I have my delivery appointment set for Thursday and will be ready for a load 1st thing Friday. And as a bonus positive, I hardly had any traffic going in to Rancho Dominguez (at 4:15 am), and only real back ups coming out with my rack load was at the interchanges between interstates. All in all, not a bad day.

Wylie says our trailers our too heavy! So this trailer has gone on a self improvement plan of shedding its heavy deck boards!

They finally sent us the address to the terminal we're moving to in Wichita. No restrooms after the office is closed. No shower or driver's breakroom. And the advice from the Wichita boss, utilize truckstop facilities...WTF? Truck stop facilities, in Wichita? What truck stop? There is a small one west of town and a #### hole in Park City with a parking lot that looks like an aerial view of Afghanistan after a bombing raid. Looks like I request to stay away from Wichita for the foreseeable future. The only company facility with less accomodations is the Berwick, PA location. I bet if the office people had to trot outside to use a porta-crapper, they'd have a contractor remodeling the place before we moved in...but us lowly working class dogs can wait.
Looks like a real gem of a facility
The only thing missing are burned out stolen cars and some homeless people pushing a shopping cart.
To be fair, this may be an older street view from Google Maps...since it was taken, the owner may have found his weed eater and spruced things up a bit before Wylie/SPD moved inLast edited: Oct 19, 2023
