I've been seeing a lot of posts here where people seen different information at orientations and left for other jobs. I've known a lot of people who did this and never had problems, but that was mostly years ago... Has it changed?
Is it true companies can ruin your CDL for leaving an orientation?

I wouldn't necessarily say its the orientation they left, but rather, not listing that orientation on a job application and then it showing up on that coveted dac report that some companies still check. Could be other things those people saying it ruined their careers aren't telling though. I blew a 0.15 after being at the gin mill last night. I smoked a bowl of pot three days ago and failed my drug test, things like that.

Yes, they can make it where you’ll never see the light of day…. EVER!
Of course, you’re good FRIEND Frank Speak is MORE than willing to meet with you at midnight to discuss a clear pathway back to the good graces of all the trucking companies. -
I left an orientation like five years ago and it never showed up on my DAC; which I keep a up-to-date hard copy of. I wasn't aware DAC could be used for refusal of employment.... kind of sleezy..
I'm pretty sure all companies still pull your DAC during PSP stage. I've seen people leave multiple orientations and still land at a decent company.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Another Canadian driver, MSWS and lual Thank this.

Once you've done a DOT drug screen for a company, any other company can find out about it if they look in the right place. I left Schneider on day 3 and it came up at my next company without me mentioning it. They just added it onto my application and that was that. Now I always list it. But I don't see how it could ruin your CDL unless they're reporting that you failed your drug screen or refused to take it. The latter might be what you're hearing about. If a driver shows up for orientation and then leaves around the time they're supposed to take the drug test, it could be put down as a refusal. Just a guess though.
Another Canadian driver, drvrtech77 and Stringb8n Thank this. -
If you were scheduled for a drug test and left before the test, that's a big no-no and makes you a future SAP driver.

Worth noting: I and everyone I knew did the drug tests at orientations we left; they usually do it day one or two before any of the deep policy and equipment stuff comes out.
That half way makes sense, but the refusing to work for them going against you long-term is a real sleezy deal..Another Canadian driver, MSWS and Stringb8n Thank this. -
never worked for a company that fooled with DAC crap in my 35 yrs, guess times have sure changed.

I wonder if they do it so they can claim a tax credit.
