Glad they gave you the top settings, I miss those every time I pull a heavy or true OD load. I agree on the noise, but hate the Paccar engine brake at any setting.

My only engine brake complaints relate to the automatic transmission. With the cruse off and engine brake on, as soon as you let off the throttle it’s dropping one if not two gears. Coming to a stop with the engine break on it spends more time downshifting then actually engine braking.

Once I’m up to speed I put it in manual mode and the truck is much more tolerable.

Having driven 2 (one at Magnum and my 1st truck here), I missed that kick in the butt that a Cummins had when it spooled up the turbo. I never felt that with the PACCAR motors.

Picking up train wheels out of PA going to TX for Friday...never hauled them before. Looked on YouTube for some hints, but the only ones on there have so much over echoed hip-hop playing over the explanation it's hard to understand what the people are saying. Some of the guys cross strap, some single strap and chain...

Gravy. There’s a 4 x 4 running down through each stack. Shipper nailed everything together. IMG_6288.jpeg

I have the lumber in the center, but mine doesn't have the top lumber to run straps over, they're just banded to pallets with a couple big white nylon bands.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

Well that’s unfortunate. My loads rode great, but being on pallets they should unload easier. If they are banded to the pallets and touching in the center, I would do two front and back and one on the middle ones.

That was my thoughts as well. Plus I added a safety chain on the front and rear stacks.

I won't be delivering this load until Monday. I originally though that they had this load set up to deliver by Friday, but after a 2nd look, the delivery window is from 8 am Friday until 14:00 Monday, but they aren't open over the weekend, so I will get it delivered 1st thing Monday. It took me a while to get to the shipper coming out of Newark and by the time I got there, got loaded and secured, I had enough time to make it to Greencastle, PA last night. I should be able to make it to the Love's north of the customer Saturday morning and deliver 1st thing Monday...plenty of time for them to find me a load home.

Someone wasn't having a very good day today

Looked like he cut the corner coming out of the repair shop and dropped all the trailer axles in the ditch.
