Here's some advice from someone a little older than BUBBAQUICK, but he's only a has been, so consider carefully whether this advice will apply: Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

You shoould think about Borkering your own loads. It'll save you a bunch of $$. As far as finding good drivers - how about a % basis of the load earnings, less expenses. This way you know you're getting more than just a driver. Someone who'll be looking at the Net/net/net and not just the cents per mile. If you have the cash outlay, and heed my tips, you WILL INCREASE YOUR BOTTOMLINE.

I was wondering if I own my own truck and leased onto a carrier, would one of their company drivers operate it with the company pay while I received the balance of the O/O pay?

Like Swift lists $.92 a mile for O/O leased onto them. If a company driver were driving my truck for Swift and earning $.35 a mile, could I then collect $.57 for their miles sitting at home?

Let's say Swift caps your fuel cost at $1.20 per gallon, the rest is covered in fuel surcharge. $1.20/6mpg is $.20 per mile right off the top of your cut. How many other expenses can you think of that will continue to reduce your chunk of the pie?
