How can I set up my own MC while being leased on to another carrier?

my authority was active in 48 hours. Not sure why it would take 4-6 weeks, unless your in a state that needs more than just dot/Mc like California.

Could be the broker percentage dispatch fees and insurance etc
or it could be just for the number on the door -
No I dispatch myself and file my own IFTA. Just under their MC basically.

Well, you should have some broker, or company willing to work with you, talk to the broker you’re currently hauling with if you have too.
It may not be as long now, I remember hearing it was taking that long from a bunch trying to get numbers their authority, I’m sure there’s not so many now. -
when i got my own numbers, i was still leased to a carrier ran their numbers till i got my ins. to activate mine. then took theirs off an ran. i went through ooida. that was in 2018
