Even though I didn’t roll out of town until a little after 1 pm this afternoon, I still got a fair amount of driving done today. Grabbed my load from Aurora and just shut down in Sidney. 450 miles in about 7 hours. Would’ve gone further but i didn’t want to chance not finding any parking. Regardless, I should be able to get well into Utah tomorrow. I have another 2100 appointment at Stater Bros in San Bernardino Thursday night.

Well tonight I had the honor and pleasure of meeting a future FCC Driver.

Stopped at a Loves to refill drinks and grab some ice and this guy walked up to my truck asking about FCC. So had a nice opportunity to lie to him about this hellscape of a place they pass off as a trucking company… LOL

Obviously I’m joking. It was nice to brag about FCC and answer his questions. He has already applied and I do hope I didn’t scare him off.

Anyway, I told him about TTR and our thread here and invited him to create a profile and join us.

So if a new face pops in looking around, please be nice to him (for a few days anyway) and answer any questions he might have. I told him y’all were decent folks so behave for a bit. ;-)

Then after he gets in a red truck, we can all go back to normal and tell him the truth about FCC… ;-)

    stay safe

I know broker loads are a necessary evil in today’s freight environment, but I hate dealing with the BS like I’m dealing with this morning. Drive 1.5 hours out in to the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, go to check in the broker double booked the load, so now here I wait on the load planner to find another load.

It's all good unless you gotta go through, Baltimore. I used to say I used to cross that Key Bridge with my last company (six years ago).

Well, I asked with the best innocent voice I could manage about layover pay on the load going to Quincy and they decided to have me drop it in Lincoln. After a short empty hunt (it was great to hear Amber on the phone) I ran over to Aurora and drug a load out to Victorville.
Taking a load now from Ontario to CB (ultimately it’s heading to Ohio). Truck and trailer both are due for service so the plan is to get them in the shop there Friday and then get rolling again Saturday morning. Got jammed up in construction yesterday in Barstow, CA and Las Vegas so didn’t get as far as I wanted. Also had to cut it a little short since I had an hour and 10 minutes left and didn’t have a sure thing plus backup in range. The new TA in Littlefield AZ is not a bad place to be (though I wish it was closer to civilization, I could use a couple things from Wallyworld).
Like an idiot I just looked at the weather, not the road conditions when I trip planned so when I looked more closely at Colorado I saw that 70 has several chain ups so it looks like I’m going up 15 to 84 over to 80 (avoiding a chain up between 15 and 84 on 80). Probably should have just went back out the way I came in (40). Live and learn and then get Luv’s or something like that.
Got an email from TA that I was a winner in their points sweepstakes, they are depositing 282 points in my account, so if I meet any of you guys at a TA/Petro I could almost treat you to a roller dog. I’ll try not to be too ostentatious with my new found wealth.

I kinda imagine we aren’t going to be hauling much plywood out of Windspeed Logistics for a while.

They just tried to give me one of those loads, I said “thanks, but no thanks.” I’ll sit and take a reset before I deal with that Shat show:
