Temple,TX 350k lbs comes off trailer

    I've not seen much info on this one

    News I did find says a 350,000 pound load broke free from the trailer and crushed a car with 3 occupants
    2 didn't make it and a 3rd was in critical condition after a 4 hour extrication.

    What is that they were hauling?

    Can any heavy haul guys give some insight into how this could have happened?

    edit: the article says the location was "...state Highway 36, just west of Highway 317..."

    Looks like something headed to a refinery to me. You don't have to be a heavy haul driver to know that it's called "improper securement." The details of that, well, that's another story. Stuff that big doesn't get moved without some serious planning, and apparently that planning failed in this instance. RIP and condolences to the victims' families.
