I got fired by HighwaY TransporT ChemicaL. I'm currently seeking employment. When 2 other companies contacted HighwaY TransporT for employment verification. They reported 4 spills. As far as I know only one was photographed. These spills shouldn't stop me from pulling dry van or reefer. I got 9 years experience. Bout 18 months of tanker experience. Pulling tanker was a mistake. I don't want it to kill my career. Any advice? I'm thinking about hiring attorney to get 3 outta 4 spills erased if they have no pics to support em. Any advice? Any companies that might hire me for dry van or reefer?

Pulling anything but tanker shouldn't be a problem.
Tank is easy to spill. Anything else is harder.
There are plenty of tank jobs that aren't hazmat and don't care about spills. Milk and food waste are 2 examples. Anything non haz shouldn't be a big deal. They do require cleaning up but there's usually a drain to hose the mess in. Not always but usually.Flat Earth Trucker and u4icwargasm Thank this. -
You're saying there are pictures of only one spill.... is there any written documentation?
If no, are you sure about that?
If yes, did you sign anything?Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Although those spills may have been less than the DOT minimum quantity for ‘reportable’, you may may violated ‘company policy’ regarding those spills? What is the company policy? ‘Any quantity’ must be reported/recorded?

My question is this … is it on the hire-right/DAC report?u4icwargasm Thanks this.

Why deny the other spills happened. If you didn't report them there must have been witnesses to the spills. How else would the company find out?
That could be the reason you got fired. Not so much for the spill, but not reporting the spills.
Good luck with your next job.Albertaflatbed Thanks this. -
