First day out after a week off, make it about 300 miles, and had a gator fly off the trailer. I chose this trailer out of a bunch at the yard because it had a very recent inspection. I've been sitting on the shoulder for 4.5 hours already. Of course it bent the heck out of the mud flap bracket and slashed the tire next to it, too. Two preplans canceled because I can't make them on time now.

This is all fine, I'm not angry or upset, it's just trucking, but I have to say after a week off that I'm feeling ready to retire. I'm not at the point @okiedokie described where it's hard to get into the truck, but I can foresee a day where that could be true. And if I could spend 60 days a season skiing, I probably wouldn't be such a fat ### after a year of that.

 

Currently have light Tain. Might be a tainy auction.
