    Most places use overhead cranes to load and unload. It’s difficult to lay it down and not mark or mar the coil. Some places still use special forklifts to pick them up. But those have a big round bar and pick from the center of the coil. It prevents damaging the steel. Most eye to the sky coils are small and banded to a skid. Those tall skinny ones are sketchy. Looks like he didn’t have enough securement to begin with and possibly no padding under that strap.

    We avoided freezing to death and the pups seem to enjoy the cool at 0345 judging by the ruckus in the back pasture that may or may not have woke the neighbors up— it is now time to strike out to the Borderlands
