My unload went surprisingly well given the limited equipment the receiver had. I managed to get empty and made it half way between Laredo and San Antonio and called it a day. It was #### hot down there, temps on the dash pulling out of Laredo were in the low 100's. Couple that with a long hot load in FL and the last couple hot days of hometime, I can pretty much guarantee that if sweating purges the body of toxins, I ain't got no toxins left.
The delivery on my next load isn't SoCal, it delivers up near San Fran-sissy-co. I must have misheard where my dispatcher said it was going...so, I won't be paying a visit to the Rancho yard after all.

Man I sure could use a broker load right now instead of delivering all these containers to the port today and probably tomorrow. At least the last drivers left them mostly secured.

Keep that kind of customer service up and you'll be driver of the year againLonesome, dwells40, hotrod1653 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Showed up at my shipper 27.5 hours before my appointment. Went in and asked them if where I was parked would block anyone who had an earlier appointment than mine. They said no problem with where you're parked, BTW, what's your pickup number? I gave it to them and mentioned it was for a tomorrow afternoon appointment. They said that if one of the loaders finishes up loading the current truck and there is enough time before quitting time, they'll load me today. At 14:30 today they back me in and start loading me. By 16:15, my butt was sitting back outside the gate loaded and secured. Not bad for having a 14:00 Friday appointment. I decided to do a 10 here at the customer and not waste hours fighting DFW afternoon rush hour traffic. Having a conestoga for these elevator loads totally changes my perspective on them. I will have enough time to get to around Stockton and do a 34 before delivering on Tuesday.

I got two of my 4 containers delivered today. SC took about 28 hours to issue our od permits so that killed most of the day. The port process was actually pretty easy today, It’s always a crap shoot.
I even found out there’s a second entrance off a side street that for some reason is way less busy. The port opens at 0500, I went in around 6:15, the main gate was at least 6 or seven trucks deep at every lane and that puts them back to the fist scanner. I went to the side gate and there was one truck in front of me in my lane.Knucklehead, Lonesome, Winnyf1 and 2 others Thank this. -
@supersnackbar i came through your town this morning, brought 238 in from worthington heading towards Branford, that right turn on 27 is tiiiiight, even with a 40 foot frameless. Such a cool little town though, seems like a peaceful place to live.
